Usage

[edit]

For many works of non-fiction they have an alphabetical index at the end of the work. The index is set with columns, which Wikisource chooses to not replicate in our works. What can be a consequence of this is that where there is a section leading alphanumeric then centered formatting does not transclude well.

{{index anchor|char=U|suffix=. and V}}

U. and V.

This will display U. and V. centered in Page; namespace, and left-aligned with an indent on the section lead characters, and sets an anchor for "U".

For an anchor for "V", use {{anchor|V}}.

See example at Page:Chronicle of the law officers of Ireland.djvu/361 and Chronicle of the law officers of Ireland/Chronological Index#U

Template data

[edit]

Move index alphanumeric section leader from centred in Page: namespace to be left indented in other namespaces. The character is set to worth as an anchor that works with TOC templates, for example, [[Template:compactTOCalpha]]
