Purpose[edit]

This template facilitates linking from The New International Encyclopædia articles to other articles in the same project. Text to be linked is usually indicated by small caps in the original source, or by “q.v.” enclosed in parentheses. This template links absolutely, so it can be used anywhere, including in the Page: namespace.

Usage[edit]

{{NIE article link|name of the article}}

{{NIE article link|display name|name of the article}}

{{NIE article link|display name|name of the article|nosc=yes}}

{{NIE article link|name of the article|nosc=yes}}

Examples[edit]

Simple[edit]

{{NIE article link|Weber's Law}} gives: Weber's Law

Different link[edit]

Where the underlying link is different from the text, a second variable can be added to override the displayed text:

{{NIE article link|Carl Schurz|Schurz, Carl}} gives: Carl Schurz

No small caps[edit]

Where no small-caps is required, then that can be overridden:

{{NIE article link|Carl Schurz|Schurz, Carl|nosc=yes}} gives: Carl Schurz
