Template:Recto-verso/doc

Usage[edit]

This template switches the content it shows depending on whether its first argument is even or odd number. It is intended to be used in page headers or footers that have different content on recto and verso pages, to cover the cases that do not fit into less flexible templates like {{recto-verso header}}.

Syntax[edit]

The syntax is:

  • {{rv|pagenumber|content for recto pages|content for verso pages}}

Note that the page number specified in the first parameter is not shown by itself, it is only used to determine which content should be rendered.

Examples[edit]

Typical use with the work's title on verso pages and the chapter title on recto pages
  • {{rv|1|{{right|{{uc|''Prologue''}}}}|{{left|{{uc|''The Scarlet Hill''}}}}}}
Prologue
  • {{rv|2|{{right|{{uc|''Prologue''}}}}|{{left|{{uc|''The Scarlet Hill''}}}}}}
The Scarlet Hill
