PRESENTS MANY VARIED ATTRACTIONS

FOR THE TOURIST AND SPORTSMAN.

IT has a healthy and pleasant climate. The water is pure, there are no snakes nor noxious insects, nor any fevers peculiar to the country.

There are scores of beautiful lakes and hundreds of splendid rivers, where the finest trout fishing in the world is obtainable. The seasons vary in certain districts, but trout fishing is obtainable from 1st October to 31st May.

Red Deer Stalking in April and May. Tents, fishing tackle, rifles, ammunition, and all other requisites obtainable in all principal towns.

There are hundreds of miles of majestic mountains, ranging up to 13,000 feet. Comfortable Alpine Hostels. Guides and all climbing accessories are obtainable on the spot.

The New Zealand Fiords are admitted by travellers to be the largest and grandest in the world. There are millions of acres of virgin forest.

The Stalactite Caves of Waitoma, Ruakura and Aranui are of great interest and easily accessible from the main line of railway.

The Thermal District, of which the township of Rotorua is the centre, contains boiling geysers, boiling lakes and springs, and hot and cold mineral waters of great curative properties. There are Government mineral water Spas at Rotorua, Te Aroha and Hanmer Plains, and elsewhere.

Golf, Bowls, Tennis, Croquet, and all other British sports readily obtainable.

The Hotel accommodation and facilities for travel are good and cheap. The country is safe to travel in. Railway, coach and steamer services throughout.

The Government Tourist Department gives every assistance to visitors. Tickets for New Zealand trips are obtainable at the New Zealand Government Tourist Offices in Melbourne and Sydney; also at the principal Offices in New Zealand.

Excellent Steamship Services are run direct from London to New Zealand, calling at Teneriffe, Cape Town and Hobart en route, by the Shaw Savill and Albion Co., Ltd., and the New Zealand Shipping Co., Ltd. Alternative routes, via the Suez Canal and Australia, Canada and Fiji, and U.S.A. and Honolulu.

Sportsmen and Tourists can avoid the English Winter by taking a Trip to New Zealand. The Midsummer months in New Zealand are November, December and January.
