Wick, 1841: 3rd s. of John Cleghorn; Educ: Edinburgh Univ.; Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, M.D. St. Andrews, 1862; L.R.C.S. Edinburgh: entered Indian Medical Service, 1865: appointed Director General, Indian Medical Service, and Sanitary Commissioner with Government of India , 1895-98; was made Hon Surgeon to H.M.; Government of India delegate to Venice Plague Conference, 1897; Bhotan Campaign, 1865 (medal).
