Edinburgh: entered Indian Medical Service, 1865: appointed Director General, Indian Medical Service, and Sanitary Commissioner with Government of India , 1895-98; was made Hon Surgeon to H.M.; Government of India delegate to Venice Plague Conference, 1897; Bhotan Campaign, 1865 (medal).
