Deshon, Lieut.-General Frederick George Thomas, C.B. (1904); Col. King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry; b. 1818; s. of Major Peter Deshon, 43rd and 75th Regiments, m. 1st, 1851, Mary (d. 1853), d. of William Hooton Doverill, 2nd, 1875, Julia (d. 1904), d. of Alexander Tower; entered Army as Ensign, 56th Regt, 1837 served with 22nd Regt. in Scinde, 1843; present at the battle of Hyderabad (medal); in the Southern Mahratta Campaign, 1844-45; landed with the 48th Regt. in the Crimea, and was present at the siege and fall of Sebastopol (medal with clasp. Turkish medal, 5th class of the Medjidie, and Crevet Major); Assist. Inspector of Volunteers, 1865-70; Col. Kingstown Yorkshire L.I. retired, 1881. Address: Chorin House, Bathampton, Bath.
