Kirtikar, Lt Colonel K. R., I.M.S.; b. at Bombay, 1849; educ: at Grant Medical College; Bombay; Proceeded to England, 1874; Passed as a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Royal College of Physicians; London, 1876; returned to India, 1877 and was posted to Sholapur for medical charge of the 19th Native Infantry; in active service in the Afghan War, 1878-1880; Fellow of the Bombay University, 1897; same year he was Health Officer of the Bombay Corporation. Retired, 1904. Chairman of Pathee Prabhu Relief Fund; Tusntee of the Aryan Education Institute. Director of the Deccan Education Society.
