Le Fanu, William Joseph Henry, B.A., Bar-at-law, I.C.S., (retired); educ: Kingstown School, and Trinity College, Dublin; joined service, 1865; acted in lower grades of the service in various parts of the presidency of Madras; became District and Sessions Judge, 1885; acting Member, Madras Board of Revenue, 1890; Collector of Customs, Madras. 1895; Member, Board of Revenue, 1888; Famine Commissioner, 1897; Additional Member, Legislative Council, Madras; retired, 1900; proceeded to Hyderabad (Deccan) and has been practising there ever since.
