Mangesha Rao, Savur, B.A., Rao Bahadur (1909), Madras; b. 1853; passed B.A., 1884; joined service as Assistant, Mangalore College, and was in charge of it for a few months, 1883; became 1st Junior Assistant Professor, Presidency College, Madras, 1885; 1st Assistant, Mangalore College, 1887; also Canarese Translator to Government till 1889; 3rd Senior Assistant Professor, Presidency College, Madras, 1889; listed in the Upper Subordinate Educational Service, 1891; Provincial Educational Service, 1897; acting Vice-Principal, Teachers’ College, Saidapet, 1900: permanent First Assistant, Teachers’ College; and acting Professor of Logic and Moral Philosophy, Presidency College, Madras. 1904; acting Vice-Principal, Teachers’ College, Saidapet, 1905: again acting Professor of Logic, etc., Presidency College, Madras, 1905; confirmed, 1906; retired, 1906.
