Mayne, Colonel Richard Charles Graham, C.B. (1898), Colonel on the Staff, Commanding Southern Brigade, India, (retired); 2nd s. of late Major R. G. Mayne; b. Simla, 1852; educ: Wellington College; joined the 83rd Regiment, 1872; passed through various grades and became A.D.C. to the Queen and Brevet-Col. 1900; served in Afghan War, 1878-80 and won medal and clasp, bronze star; served in Egypt, in the battle of Tel-el-Kabir (medal and clasp, bronze star), 1882; Zulu Expedition, 1890; in command of Mekram Expedition, 1898; China Expeditionary Force, 1900 (medal).
