Hunter; joined service as Assistant Collector and Magistrate, Bombay, 1881; transferred to Burma as Deputy Commissioner (medal with clasp), 1887-90; Administrator of Porbandar State, 1894; Collector and Magistrate, Secretary to Government and then Commissioner of Customs, till 1907; Member of Council, Bombay, October 1907; President, Indian Factory Labour Commission, 1908; Commissioner, Poona, 1908; Member of Council, Bombay, 1910; retired, 1911.
