Nundy, Dr. George, M.A. (Cantab), LL.D. (Dub), Inspector-General of Registration and Stamps, Hyderabad State; y.s. of the Rev. Gopinath Nundy of the American Presbyterian Mission; b. at Futtehpur, N.W. Province, 1856; edu: at La Martiniere, Lucknow and Calcutta; passed the Entrance Examination, Calcutta, 1876; proceeded to England, and joined the Oxford University, and studied Law; obtained a scholarship from the Nizam’ Government to qualify in Natural Science; joined the Cambridge University and obtained an exhibition; returned to Hyderabad after graduating in Cambridge; appointed Professor of Natural Science, Hyderabad College and Medical School; again proceeded to England, joined the Trinity College, Dublin, and passed the LL.B. and LL.D. degrees; returned to India and was Honorary Assistant Commissioner under the British Government and was sent by the Hyderabad Government to Berar to be trained in the Judicial, Revenue and Administrative work; served as Assistant Commissioner in the Central Provinces; was also Judge of the Small Causes Court, Khamgaon; recalled to Hyderabad and was appointed first Talukdar; Officiated as Deputy Inam Commissioner and was posted to present appointment, 1896; Member of the Educational Board and a Municipal Commissioner.
