(London); Physician and Surgeon; Consulting Gynaecologist, Royal Free Hospital; Governor of St. Mary’s College, Paddington; m. a Barrister once practicing in Madras; b. London 1845; educ: privately; Madras Medical College; received diploma of College 1878; the Royal Free Hospital and School of Medicine for Women in London, entered for the M.B. and B.S. degrees of London University in 1882; received the gold medal and scholarship in obstetric medicine; Honours in Medicine, Forensic Medicine and Surgery; returned to India 1883, and was appointed Lecturer in Midwifery and Gynaecology in Madras Medical College, and Examiner to the University of Madras in those subjects; also Medical Superintendent Royal Victoria Hospital for Caste and Gosha Women; M.D. of London 1883; and M.S. 1896, late senior Surgeon at New Hospital for Women; Lecturer on Obstetrics to School of Medicine for Women, Handle Street, Brunswick Sq.
