Shahzadpur, Jagirdar of; Jivansingh Sardar, C.I.E. (1891); C.S.I.; b. 1860; educ: at the Government Wards School, Umballa; m. to a sister of the Maharaja of Patiala: ranks 2nd among the Jagirdars of the district; is a keen sportsman and has a fine racing stable; entitled to be addressed as “Sirdar Sahib Mirbani Dostan”; but is better known by the local appellation of Shahid which ensures him respect from the Sikhs throughout the Punjab; has inherited a jagir of Rs. 26,000 and also owns large landed property scattered throughout the districts in the Punjab and the United Provinces.
