Venkobachari, Cuddalore, Diwan Baliadur, (1808); retired Chief Judge of Travancore State; passed the old uncovenanted Civil Service Eaxmination; joined Government Service at the early age of 17, as a clerk in the District Court of South Arcot; became Sub-Judge, 1890; Judge, Court of Small Causes, Madras, 1893; District and Sessions Judge, 1894; services lent to the State of Travancore as Chief Justice, 1898; retired, 1904; engaged himself in the study of Vedanta Philosophy; saved many a rich family from ruinous litigation by offering timely and sound advice and by undertaking to arbitrate gratis.
