Cornwall, county-seat of Dundas, Stormont and Glengarry Counties, Ont., is situated on the north bank of the St. Lawrence River at the foot of the Long Sault rapids, and has a population of 6,704 people, largely engaged in manufacturing. It is on the Grand Trunk and Ottawa & New York railways. Its leading industries are cotton, woolens, paper, machinery and pottery.
