"The Star", popularly known as "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" (Roud 7666), was first published in Jane and Ann Taylor's Rhymes for the Nursery (1806). It is sung to the tune of the French melody "Ah! vous dirai-je, maman", which was published in 1761. It has has many adaptations around the world.
