The Thief of Bagdad (1924)
by Achmed Abdullah
[New York: The H. K. Fly Company, 1924. The illustrations (stills from the movie and cartoon drawings) may be added later.] Based on Douglas Fairbanks' silent movie of the same name, (for which he was a co-screenwriter with Lotta Woods; and which, in turn, was a loose adaptation of the Arabian Nights)." The film (with adaptations) was remade in 1940, 1960, 1961 (Italian); and as a television film in 1978. Incidentally, the "Publisher's Note" contains some background on the special effects in the 1924 film.
