GAISFORD-ST-LAWRENCE, Julian Charles; b. March 28. 1862; son of Thomas Gaisford of Offington and Lady Emily St. Lawrence, eldest dau. of 3rd Earl of Howth; m. 1889 Bertha, dau. of Francis Riddell, of Cheesebiurn Grange, Northumberland, and has issue three sons, four daus. Educ.: Oratory School; Royal Naval College. Served in Royal Navy, 1875-87; resigned his commission and is now a Commander R.N. on the emergency list; called to Bar, Inner Temple, 1891: has served on West Sussex County Council for 6 years, and on the Sussex County Association for Territorial Forces; J.P., Sussex; J.P., D.L., Co. Dublin (High Sheriff, 1916): succeeded in 1909 to the estates of his uncle, the 4th Earl of Howth, and assumed by Royal Licence the additional name and arms of St. Lawrence.
