Chapter 1

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to command of God, savior of us and Christ Jesus, the hope of us 2 to Timothy, my true child in the faith, grace, mercy and peace from God, the father and Christ Jesus, the Lord of us.3 As I urged you to remain in Ephesus when I was going to Macedonia, so that you might warn some men not to teach other doctrines,4nor to heed myths and genealogies endless, which speculations bring rather than stewardship of God, which is in faith. 5And the aim of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a conscience good and a faith sincere,6From some, missing the mark, turn to vain talk,7wishing to be teachers of the law, not understanding neither what they say nor about what they avow.8We know now that valuable is the law if someone uses it lawfully,9 Know this, that for a righteous one law is not set, for wicked however and insubordinate, for ungodly and sinful, for unholy and profane, for father-slayers and mother-slayers, for murderers,1for fornicators, homosexuals, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and anything else, the sound teaching opposes
