Translation:Penal Code Amendment Act, 2477 Buddhist Era (No 6)
Table of contents
Whereas the House of Representatives passed a resolution on the 20th day of August 2477 BE[2] to pass the bill for the Penal Code Amendment Act, 2477 Buddhist Era (No 6), and His Majesty King Maha Prajadhipok Phra Pokklao Chaoyuhua did not concur therewith;
Whereas the House of Representatives reaffirmed such resolution on the 29th day of September 2477 BE[2] and His Majesty King Maha Prajadhipok Phra Pokklao Chaoyuhua failed to sign the bill within the time period provided;
Whereas, according to the dispositions of section 39 of the Constitution, such bill can be promulgated as a law; and
Whereas it is shown from the note of the President of the House of Representatives dated 17 April 2478 BE[1] that the mentioned promulgation should thenceforth proceed;
Therefore, by the power under the dispositions of section 39 of the Constitution, the Prime Minister gives the present order directing the said bill to be published in the Royal Gazette in order that it shall thenceforth come into force as a law.

Penal Code Amendment
Act, 2477 Buddhist Era
(No 6)
Regent
(According to the Royal Decree dated 11 January 2476 BE)[2]
His Majesty King Maha Prajadhipok Phra Pokklao Chaoyuhua bestows upon all heads a Great Royal Command directing as follows:
Whereas the House of Representatives has advised Him that it is appropriate to amend the Penal Code;
Therefore, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives, He is graciously pleased to enact the following Act:
Section1.This Act shall be called the Penal Code Amendment Act, 2477 Buddhist Era (No 6).
Section2.This Act shall enter into operation from the day of its publication in the Royal Gazette onwards.
Section3.Section 13 of the Penal Code of 127 RE (2451 BE),[3] shall be repealed and replaced by the following disposition:
“Section13.Whoever is adjudged to be punished with death is decreed by His Majesty to be shot to death.”
Section4.Section 14 of the Penal Code of 127 RE (2451 BE), shall be repealed and replaced by the following dispositions:
“Section14.If the punishment of death is to be inflicted upon any person, His Majesty decrees that the person be put to death at the place and time found appropriate by the public officer in charge thereof. However, the person shall not be put to death within the period of sixty days from the day his judgment becomes final.”
Section5.All the cases for which the final judgments have been passed since before to the day of entry into operation of this Act shall be governed by the former law.
