No. 5/2557
Re: Temporary termination of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand


Whereas the National Council for Peace and Order has announced its seizure of the administrative power of the Country on the 22nd day of the month of May 2557 Buddhist Era, at the time of 16:30, according to its Announcement No. 1/2557; therefore, in order to smoothly administer the public services within the Kingdom, it is ordered that the following be done:

  1. The Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, 2550 Buddhist Era, save Chapter 2: The Monarch, shall temporarily terminate.
  2. The caretaker Council of Ministers shall terminate the performance of its duties.
  3. The Senate shall continue to perform its duties according to the number of the Senators existing on the day of coming into force of this Announcement.
  4. All the courts shall remain empowered to try and adjudicate upon cases according to the provisions of law and announcements of the National Council for Peace and Orders.
  5. The independent organisations and other organisations according to the Constitution of 2550 Buddhist Era shall continue to perform their duties.

All this shall come into force henceforth.
