Re: Repeal of announcement of state of emergency in Bangkok Metropolitan Area, as well as related announcements, ordinances, and orders
Following the issuance of the Announcement of State of Emergency in Bangkok Metropolitan Area dated 2 September 2551 BE by which various measures provided in the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in State of Emergency, 2548 BE, were put into operation so as to control, suppress, and resolve the disturbing problems which led to unrest within Bangkok, it now appears that the situations grounding the announcement of the said state of emergency can be controlled, suppressed, and resolved by state officials and state agencies using the measures under the normal laws.
Therefore, by the power under the dispositions of section 5, paragraph 3, of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in State of Emergency, 2548 BE—a law containing certain provisions related to the restriction of personal rights and freedoms, which section 29, in conjunction with sections 32, 33, 34, 36, 38, 41, 43, 45, and 63 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, permits to be done through the powers under legal provisions—the Prime Minister hereby announces as follows:
Article1.The Announcement of State of Emergency in Bangkok Metropolitan Area dated 2 September 2551 BE shall be repealed.
Article2.All the announcements, ordinances, and orders issued under the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in State of Emergency, 2548 BE, as a result of the Announcement of State of Emergency in Bangkok Metropolitan Area dated 2 September 2551 BE, shall come to an end.
This Announcement shall take effect from now on.
Announced on the 14th day of September 2551 BE
Somchai Wongsawat
Deputy Prime Minister, acting in place of
the Prime Minister
