Keep watch over me when I awake,
Good angel, because God said you would.
And each night as I sleep
Lean over my little bed.

Have pity on my weakness;
Walk beside me always,
Chat with me all along the journey;
And while I listen to you,
Lest I fall along the way,
Good Angel, give me your hand.
