- שמעון הצדיק היה משיירי אנשי כנסת הגדולה.
- הוא היה אומר:
- על שלושה דברים העולם עומד —
- על התורה, ועל העבודה, ועל גמילות החסדים.
English Translation[edit]
- Shimon the Righteous was of the last of the Men of the Great Assembly.
- He would say:
- Upon three things the world stands —
- upon the Torah, and upon service, and upon kind deeds.
Explanation[edit]
service: This refers either to general service of God, prayer, or the sacrificial Service in the Temple.
