Proclamation

on Appointment of the Regent




Bhumibol Adulyadej, R.



Phra Bat Somdet Phra Paraminthra Maha Bhumibol Adulyadej is graciously pleased to proclaim that:

Whereas We desire to enter the monkhood this October 1956; whereas We find desirable to appoint a Regent pursuant to the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand; and whereas We entertain an opinion that Queen Sirikit is capable of undertaking such duty;

Now Know You That We, by virtue of section 17 of the Amendment to the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, Buddhist Era 2475 (1932), Buddhist Era 2494 (1954), and with the approval of the House of Representatives, do hereby appoint Queen Sirkit as Regent during Our Monkhood.


Issued this 18th Day of September, Buddhist Era 2499 (1956); being the 11th Year of Our Reign.
