Announcement of
Appointment of Prime Minister

His Majesty King Maha Bhumibol Adulyadej is pleased to give a Great Royal Command that it be announced as follows:
Whereas the ministership of Nai Samak Sundaravej, Prime Minister, has individually come to an end in accordance with paragraph 1(7) of section 182 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, 2550 Buddhist Era, and the President of the House of People’s Representatives has notified His Most Gracious Majesty of the resolution passed by the House of People’s Representatives on the 17th day of September 2551 approving the appointment of Nai Somchai Wongsawat as Prime Minister through the votes of more than half of the total number of the existing Members of the House of People’s Representatives;
Therefore, He entertains the opinion that Nai Somchai Wongsawat is the person whom He should trust to take the position of prime minister.
By virtue of the power under section 171 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, He is graciously pleased to appoint Nai Somchai Wongsawat as Prime Minister in charge of the public administration from now on.
Announced on the 18th day of September 2551 Buddhist Era, being the 63rd year of the present reign.
