Audin utušbihan prayer

3807242Mandaïsche Liturgien — Prayer 751920Mark Lidzbarski
LXXV.
In the name of the great life,
let healing and victory,
power and firmness,
speech and hearing
be granted to me NN from the side of life.

We confess and praise the mighty, alien, first, sublime Life,
which is above all works.
We want to offer head and mouth
to life and firm speech
to the treasure of light,
the great rest and support of life.
You we will praise, honor,
glorify, bless, strengthen.
Who shall praise you, who shall glorify you,
by the greatness of thy victories
You are praised, you are glorified,
you are honored, you are established.
You have come, you are coming,
besides you, no one has come.

At your splendor the horsemen were terrified;
at your light the gates and kingdoms were confounded.
When the Jordan saw you, it turned back;
the waves of the sea turned back.
The islands of the sea fell into confusion,
the vessels overturned and fell on their faces.
The cedars on Lebanon broke,
the mountains quaked and leaped like deer,
they opened (their mouths) and granted praise.
The hinds in the steppes cast forth their young.
The heights stand and speak in honor,
the earth shook and trembled.

Jordan,
whom did you look upon and turn back,
Waves of the sea,
why did you turn back,
Islands of the sea,
why did you fall into confusion,
Vehicles,
why did you overturn and fall on your faces,
Cedars of Lebanon,
why do you break,
mountains,
why do you tremble and leap like deer,
do you open your mouths and give praise?
Hinds of the steppes,
before whom do you cast your young,
ye high places,
before whom stand ye and speak in worship,
earth,
who sees you and are afraid?

The shine,
which is above the shining beings,
the light,
which is above the light beings,
the good man,
who penetrated through the worlds,
came, split the firmament and revealed himself.

When life looked,
it beheld the Tibil,
and its splendor fell
upon the roofs of their building.
They sit on the thrones of rebellion,
but they sank from their thrones
and fell on their faces.
It covered and took away
the shine of the worlds and aeons
and extinguished the flames of their lamps.
It set the eyes of the planets
in the depths of the earth
and the lower mists of darkness.

Rūhā raised her voice, screeched and cried:
"My father, my father, why did you create me?
My God El El, why did you remove me, cut me off,
and leave me in the depths of the earth and the lower mists of darkness,
that I have no power to ascend there?"

All rose up, prayed, and gloriously praised the mighty (life).
They let their voices resound to rich honor
and praised the splendor that came upon the shining being,
the light that came upon the light being,
and the good man who penetrated through the worlds,
split the firmament and revealed himself.
He separated the light from the darkness,
separated the good from the evil,
separated the life from the death.
He separated the friends of his Kuštā name
from darkness to light,
from evil to good,
from death to life,
and set them on the paths of Kuštā and faith.

You spoke to us with your language
and commanded us with your speech:
"Be you my brightness,
and I will be your brightness;
be you my light,
and I will be your light;
let my name be in your mouth,
and I will be with you."
It is you who overthrow the idols in their temples
and bring rebuke upon idolatry.
The idols buckled in disgrace by their way;
upon their temples came abundant reproach.
He fell upon them
and bound their splendor.

Great is the glory
in which Mandā d-Haijē clothed himself.
Blessed is that day of light,
praised the morning-seen
in which you set out from the worlds of light and came.
To the days was not counted,
to the months was not counted
except that day in which you revealed yourself from the light worlds.
The day on which you revealed yourself,
be revealed to all the friends of your Kuštā name.
Our naming, our request, our prayer,
our humility, our virtue, our knowledge rise up before you,
treasure of light, great rest and support of life.
Even if we step 7 times a day and praise your name,
your naming and your goodness, my Lord,
who shall praise you,
who shall glorify you by the greatness of your victories?
Shall the stinking body praise you or the vain tongue?
If our mouth were like the sea,
our lips like its waves,
our tongue like the rugged mountains,
then we could praise you, glorify you,
honor you, bless you.
You know it, who fears you from the heart
and who confesses you only: with the lips.
With a pure mouth you are blessed,
with a tongue of praise you are praised.
The pillars that do not waver praise you,
and the ophans of the Kuštā that do not change.
You are praised by the sons of salvation who dwell with you,
who are endless, countless and imperishable.
They shine through each other's brilliance,
among them all there is not hatred, jealousy and discord.
You are praised by the place
that is entirely made up of gates of splendor, light and glory.
You praise Abathur, the old, high, hidden, kept,
who sits in the row like life.
You Ptahil-Uthra praises and says to you:
"Blessed be you, my Lord Mandā d-Haijē, and praised.
Blessed be the great place from which you have come;
praised, glorified and honored be the great place to which you are going."
You are praised by the men of proven righteousness
who are from the lower Škīnās.
You praise your knowledge, your wisdom,
your insight, and your goodness.
You are come, you come,
and then you will reveal yourself.
It is you who are endless, countless and imperishable.
You are the Father,
you are the Brother,
you are the Son,
you are the Source,
you are the great Root of Life.
You are the first,
you are the last.
There is the One to come,
it is you who are to reveal yourself in the distance.

Remove from us your wrath
and draw near to us your grace.
Banish, push away, remove and destroy the angels of wrath,
ice and hail away from my ground and my house, the NN.
(As swiftly) as the eyes lower and the (celestial) wheels turn,
our petition, our prayer and our humility rise before you, Mandā d-Haijē.
What we have done, forgive us,
and what we do, forgive us.
The forgiver of sins, offenses, follies, stumbles, and errors
is you, Mandā d-Haijē.
If you, Mandā d-Haijē, do not forgive us our sins, offenses, follies, stumbles, and errors,
then who should stand blameless before you, Mandā d-Haijē?
We are slaves, the whole sins,
you are the Lord, who is whole forgiveness.
All hands stole before you, all lips lied...
No one is sinless before you, Mandā d-Haijē.
The worlds do not know your name,
do not understand your light.
O who eat and drink,
who quarrel and persecute,
who fornicate and pander,
who bow down to a vault and brick!
Day after day they sit on the thrones of rebellion
and persecute the name of life.
They did not learn the name of life
and they did not care about life.
We witnessed the life,
and to the life we had confidence.
Mandā d-Haijē was our support and help.
The worlds reviled and persecuted us;
do not despise us because of the...
of the worlds, judge us not according to the judgment of the worlds,
do not set us up with the guilty of the worlds,
and do not cut us off from life.
We spoke with the orders of life
and revealed hidden secrets.
The worlds reviled and persecuted us,
but you, life, receive from the hidden
the prayer that comes to you,
and may rest be established over your light.
You are our radiance, our brightness,
our strength, our succor, our illumination,
who revealed yourself to the first friends
of your name in rays of radiance.
We confessed your Kuštā,
may your light be cut off on us;
may we be with your victories
and be raised up in your Kuštā.
May the gods on high see us,
then succumb and be put to shame.
Clothe us with your splendor,
cover us with your light,
and show us the way
by which you have from the house of life.
Let us walk on it the way of true believing men,
so that our mind and soul may rest in the Škīnā of life,
in the propensity of life,
in the propensity of the 3 Uthras,
in the propensity of the Mandā d-Haijē,
the exalted among beings,
in the propensity of the 4 men,
the sons of salvation.
May peace be granted by you to our mind and soul.
Clothe us with thy splendor,
cover us with thy light,
set us up before you among the blameless,
not among the guilty,
among the perfect,
not among the deficient.

Mandā d-Haijē is your name,
Kuštā is your name,
victorious is your name,
glorified is your name,
honored is your name,
blessed is your name,
established is your name.
Victorious are you,
victorious is your name,
victorious are the speeches of the Kuštā
that come out of your mouth, above all works.
Make victorious and establish this my soul of the NN.
And life is victorious over all works.
