Royal Decree
Dissolving the House of People's Representatives,
2531 BE

Bhumibol Adulyadej R
Given on the 29th day of April 2531 BE
Being the 43rd year of the present reign

Phra Bat Somdet Phra Paramin Maha Bhumibol Adulyadej gives a great royal command by which He orders with His pleasure that it be announced as follows:

Whereas the Prime Minister has humbly made the following submission to Him: It appears that, ever since a general election took place on the 27th day of July 2529 BE, many political parties have been unable to operate under the political party system in a harmonious manner and Members of the House of People's Representatives affiliated with the political parties have refused to recognise the opinions or resolutions of the majority of members of their own parties, acting against the process of the administration under the democratic regime and causing a great deal of problems and obstacles to the handling of the public services of the State and the development of the Country, [as a result of which] it is appropriate to dissolve the present House of People's Representatives and organise an election of new Members of the House of People's Representatives;

Therefore, by virtue of the powers under the stipulations of section 101 and section 159 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, He orders with His gracious pleasure that the following Royal Decree be enacted:

Section1.This Royal Decree is called the "Royal Decree Dissolving the House of People's Representatives, 2531 BE".

Section2.This Royal Decree shall come into force from the day of its publication in the Royal Gazette onwards.

Section3.The House of People's Representatives shall be dissolved in order to enable an election of new Members of the House of People's Representatives.

Section4.A general election of Members of the House of People's Representatives shall take place on the 24th day of July 2531 BE.

Section5.The Minister of Interior shall be in charge of the execution of this Royal Decree.

Countersignatory:
General P. Tinsulanonda
Prime Minister
