Chap. LVI.An Act making an appropriation for alterations and repairs in the Capitol.

Specific appropriations.
Repairs of the chamber of the house of representatives.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That a sum not exceeding five thousand dollars shall be, and the same is hereby appropriated, to be applied under the direction of the President of the United States, in such repairs or alterations in the chamber of the House of Representatives as may be necessary for their accommodation in their future sessions, having in view as well the increased number of the members, as the better lighting, ventilating, and warning the chamber; which sum shall be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.

Repairs of the roof of the capitol.Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That five hundred dollars be appropriated to repair the roof of the capitol, to be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
