I hold strong feelings about punctuation.

I hold these Truths to be self-evident, that "straight" “dumb” quotes are evil, and an archaic Relic of poorly designed Typewriters, and that a truly Enlightened People shall come to abandon such unwise Punctuation, and abolish the misguided Endorsement thereof—replacing such an unjust Guideline with one mandating the right and proper Usage of Curly Quotes, as evidenced in properly typeset Text for Centuries—so that the Train of typographical Abuses and Usurpations caused by their injurious Use may finally and rightly cease. It is the Right and the Duty of the People to realize legitimate Punctuation consists of , and , and , and , and that the Abominations of " and ' have no rightful Place (except where necessitated by the syntactical Rules of the various Languages encountered in the Programming of Computers), and that even the Marking of Prime and Double Prime is not the Domain of such contemptuous Symbols, but rather of Codepoints U+2032 () and U+2033 () of the General Punctuation block, thereamong existing since the earliest Days of Unicode.

(The rage instead me whenever I’m on Wikisource. For my own health and sanity, I probably shouldn’t be here.)
