Thomas Stone (b. 1957) is a native of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He received his Bachelor’s degree in music from Lawrence University, where he studied composition with Steven Stucky, and his Master of Music degree from DePaul University in 1983. He has extensive experience as a conductor and teacher in both private and public schools in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Florida. He earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Wind Conducting at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where he was a student of Eugene Corporon. His many published works are largely intended for the modern wind band. His works have been performed by the Cincinnati Wind Symphony, the University of North Texas Wind Symphony, the Dallas Wind Symphony, the United States Marine Band, and many other leading ensembles throughout the world. He is a pioneer in PDF music publishing and founded Maestro & Fox Music (www.maestroandfox.com) in 2007. Dr. Stone's has provided CD liner notes for the Cincinnati Wind Symphony, the University of North Texas Wind Symphony, the Keystone Winds, and the United States Air Force Band, and are published by Klavier Recordings and GIA Publications. Thomas Stone is currently Conductor of the Wind Ensemble and Professor of Music, at Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana. He serves as conductor of the Centenary Summer Band, a professional ensemble funded by corporate sponsors and the American Federation of Musicians. He is listed in Who's Who Among America's Teachers, and Who's Who In America.
