I'm cofounder of the Wikimedians of Los Angeles user group and regional ambassador for Art+Feminism, a global DIY campaign to improve Wikipedia's coverage of women, intersectional feminism, and the arts. Since July 2013, I've led Unforgetting L.A., a series of meetups focused on building a more accurate and diverse online history of art in Southern California. We meet throughout the year at art museums and institutions across Los Angeles area including the Getty, LACMA, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, California African American Museum, Hammer Museum, MOCA Los Angeles, MAK Center for Art and Architecture, Women's Center for Creative Work, and more.
Offline, I'm cofounder and director of East of Borneo, an online magazine, book imprint, and crowdsourced digital archive of West Coast contemporary art and its history. I also develop books and creative content for museums including the Marciano Art Foundation, MOCA Los Angeles, and the Japanese American National Museum. I'm passionate about the digital humanities, equitable access to knowledge, and programs that use technology to drive collaboration, inclusion, transparency, generosity, and social impact.
I'm contributing to the Wikimedia 2030 Movement Strategy as a member of the Partnerships working group, and I'm a member of the WikiConference North America 2018 scholarship committee. I also co-moderate the Wikipedia Los Angeles Facebook group and Twitter account; if you're in the Los Angeles area or otherwise interested in connecting with our community, please join us there!
