Distributed Proofreaders ( wikipage)

These proofreaders are a resource Wikisource should tap into; this would be a mutually supportive project that would enable proofreaders from DP to dramatically increase proofreading throughput at WS and would enable extension, and therefore promoting ongoing engagement, for proofreaders at DP.

The skillsets of proofreading at DP and wikiskills at WS would lift standards and engagement in both communities.

Regardless of which format you believe is best.

1. Set a standard of proofreading at WS to correspond to Dp, as default. Perhaps have a badge for the User page showing the level of training they have completed at DP. Deviations from this standard of proofreading should be specified on the Index Discussion Page; project managers are entitled to dictate their standard; proofreaders are entitled to choose what projects they work on, with the knowledge that the standard will be consistently applied throughout the project. Index page category: DP standard.

  • Consistent formats.
    • Edit page preview should be side by side view
    • Templates should be standard i.e. there should be an italic, bold template;
  • Gliches: the hard return at the bottom of the edit page.
