Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikisource! Thank you for joining the project. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Please consider putting a brief description of yourself on your user page. If you are already a contributor to another Wikimedia project, such as Wikipedia, please mention this on your user page so we know how to contact you. Also, mention which languages you understand if English is not your first language.

In any case, I hope you enjoy donating your time to grow the Wikisource library that is free for everyone to use! In discussions, please "sign" your comments using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question here (click edit) and place {{helpme}} before your question.

Again, welcome! John Vandenberg 08:05, 6 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I have rolled back you changes, because they did not match what appears in the printed book. See "Page:LA2-NSRW-2-0517.jpg". John Vandenberg 09:36, 6 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

About the changes...

[edit]

Sorry... I thought this site worked like wikipedia. I didn't know the page was based on a specific publication, and just wanted to improve accuracy. I will try not to create any more extra work for you all. :-) unsigned comment by Andes treasures (talk) 07:46, 7 December 2007.

No worries, its good to hear that you meant well. We are like Wikipedia in that we don't mind if people make mistakes, especially if they join the team. :-)
I think you are our first Ecuador resident, so I have created Wikisource:Ecuador as a "topical index" that needs to be expanded by including any relevant pages on this search: Special:Search/Ecuador. Compare with Portal:Canada, Portal:Australia, etc.
The "Government works" part of that page includes a tag "{{new license required}}", because we need to investigate the copyright laws of Ecuador, in order to create a new template "{{PD-ECGov}}", which would be like {{PD-CAGov}} or {{PD-USGov}}, etc.
Do you have any favourite authors? Or do you have in your possession any old reference books that you consider to be worth adding to our collection?
Dont worry about doing something wrong; we all watch Special:Recentchanges so you can't accidentally do any damage that others wont notice.
Enjoy, John Vandenberg 09:34, 7 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
