Introduction

[edit]

My goal is to build up a library of various legal texts with annotations. This may be done on Wikibooks or Wikisources. --Colobikeguy 07:20, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Library

[edit]

The library is to include links to various projects of love. The problem is not finding the source. The problem is a uniform portal to the source. For example, if I want to learn patent law, I am almost required to muddle may way through an unnamed treatise author's blase analysis of facts. If I turn to trademark, I get a different style.

Wikisource or -books will be problematic in this area in the beginning. But I am hoping to build templates that will guide writers to the same style. The Supreme Court template is a good example. But this still seems lacking in some respects. I havent really figured out how.

[edit]

The source of the legal texts should be from source sites on the internet. I am thinking of botting my own site to gather up the text as they are published and posting them on wikipedia.

Everyone seems interested in the Supreme Court. This is not really my area of interest. I am more interested in the drab and boring world of regulations. Supreme Court decisions are important, but they are more easily understood with a power sharing model rather than strict logic. Regulations are very well defined so the application (or lack thereof) is rather obvious.

Use of Annotations

[edit]

There still seems to be some debate about whether annotated texts should be allowed in wikisources. Personally, I think that annotated cases and statutes should be in wikisources. Treatises that summarize the law without the complete statute or case law should be in wikibooks.

Welcome
