Hello Moulton, welcome to Wikisource! Thanks for your interest in the project; we hope you'll enjoy the community and your work here.

You'll find an (incomplete) index of our works listed at Wikisource:Works, although for very broad categories like poetry you may wish to look at the categories like Category:Poems instead.

Please take a glance at our help pages (especially Adding texts and Wikisource's style guide). Most questions and discussions about the community are held at the Scriptorium.

The Community Portal lists tasks you can help with if you wish. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page!

I have removed your userpage as it is not a place to host a biography, especially given you have done nothing here except misuse the opportunity. I can and will help you to correct that if you wish, but until then, a biog is yet another misuse of this wiki. John Vandenberg (chat) 14:03, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand that policy, Jay. Isn't it customary to identify oneself and disclose one's credentials and bona fides when arriving in an educational community? Moulton (talk) 14:16, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings

Greetings.

I was summoned here by John Vandenberg who originally solicited my help in locating a first edition of Moby Dick. I contacted Professor Bruce Franklin, a well-known Melville scholar, on Jay's behalf. Professor Franklin, alas, did not have such a first edition copy of Moby Dick, but he did suggest going to the Melville Society as the next logical step.

Do not play games with me. You were here, abusing this wiki, prior to the event you speak of, which was only days ago, so I hope your memory isnt so bad. You created an sock here for use over on en.wv prior to you putting feelers out re Moby Dick on Oct 16.
It would be in everyone's best interest that you have a nice clean start here, and I am happy to help, but not if you're going to continue in the vein displayed elsewhere. John Vandenberg (chat) 14:23, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I do not consider the broad educational mission of the family of WMF projects to be a game, Jay. I consider the educational enterprises of the Internet to be my life's work. With regard to the first edition question, I had discussed that many weeks ago with Ottava Rima, as I had indicated to you last week when you and I discussed it on IRC. Since it was clear from our brief conversation that Ottava Rima had not yet located a first edition, it occured to me to go ahead and take the initiative to contact Professor Franklin. Moulton, I have blocked you indefinitely, and prevented you from commenting further on this wiki. I told you that I would do so, and told you how you may use this wiki effectively. I am sorry you havent been able to take advantage of that advice and opportunity. John Vandenberg (chat) 14:34, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
