Subbaraya Charya, Srimushnam Vyakarna, Mahamahopadhyaya, was born in 1837, and educated under various well-known Pundits. He is a descendant of Arya Charlu, a Pundit of renown in Madras Presidency. He is a recognized leader in the matters of Sanskrit learning and educational methods; he is State Pundit of Tanjore, and examiner in the Pundits' Conferences at Tajore, Mysore, and elsewhere in the Presidency. He has published a work on the Dwaita Philosophv, in the Vernacular, as well as other similar works. His title was conferred on the occasion of the recent Coronation Durbar, in recognition of his learning and services to education. Address: Tirupati, Madras Presidency.
