This is a list of foreign films already in the public domain in the US because of the usual 95-year expiration, but are copyrighted still in their country of origin. These films may still be added to Wikisource if their video files are uploaded here, but the videos cannot be added to Commons.

The rare cases of films having never been published, or having been published anonymously/pseudonymously, etc., may also apply to items in this list.

These films are still copyrighted in the United States. Their video files should not yet be uploaded anywhere on WMF sites, as it is probably illegal, and their transcriptions should not be added to Wikisource until their copyrights expire. Some items in this list will still be copyrighted for decades to come, while others will lose their copyrights relatively soon.

Some users will create and proofread transcriptions of films in this list, and save them on their local storage, to await the year of their release into the public domain. This will allow for films to be added to this site very soon after their copyright expires.
