Note: A 1925 Soviet silent drama film; it presents a dramatization of the mutiny that occurred in 1905 when the crew of the Russian battleship Potemkin rebelled against its officers. In 2012, the British Film Institute named it the eleventh-greatest film of all time. The date and translator of the English subtitles are unknown. By consensus, the English title is Battleship Potemkin, even if the first title of this version names it "The" Battleship Potemkin.

01:33
The men slept heavily after the watch.
02:30
Watchful but clumsy.
02:35

03:02
There's a limit to what a man can take.
03:12
Vakulinchuk.
03:18-03:24
Comrades!
The time has come for us to speak out.
03:34-03:40
What are we waiting for? All of Russia has risen.
Are we to be the last to do so?
03:59
On the following morning.
05:13
We've had enough rotten meat!
05:22
It's not fit for pigs!
05:45
Ship's doctor Smirnov.
05:48
КН. ПОТЕМКИНЪ
05:52
The meat could crawl overboard on his own!
06:16
Those are not worms.
06:26
They are only maggots. Wash them out with brine.
06:44
Russian POW's in Japan are fed better!
06:49
We've had enough rotten meat!

11:31
The ship's store.
12:07
The men refused to eat the soup.
14:00
"Give us this day
14:08
"our daily bread."
14:28
DRAMA IN THE HARBOUR
14:34
All hands on deck!
15:16
Ship's captain Golikov.
15:50
All who enjoyed their soup,
15:57
step forward!
16:04
The petty officers.
16:26
Step back!
16:37
I'll string the rest of you up on the yard!
17:22
Call the guard!
17:36
Matyushenko instructed the men to meet by the turret.
17:55
To the turret!
18:01
To the turret!
18:06
To the turret!
18:43
Shipmates!
18:47
It's time.
19:04
Most of the men gathered by the turret
19:27
Halt! Stay where you are!
19:50
The men tried to escape through the Admiral's hatch.
20:02
Back! The hatch is not for the likes of you.
20:18
I'll shoot you down like dogs!
20:33
Cover them with tarpaulin.
20:36
Aye-aye, sir!
21:28
Cover them!
21:51
Attention!
22:24
Bring the unruly to reason, O Lord…
22:33
At the tarpaulin.
23:30
Vakulinchuk decided to act.
23:34
—Fire!—
23:36
Brothers!
23:38
Who are you shooting at?
23:42
The rifles wavered.
23:48
—Fire!—
23:51
—Fire!—
23:57
Fire, you swine!
24:09
Take your rifles, mates!
24:16
Let those blackguards have it!
24:19
Give it to them!
25:49
Remember the Lord.
25:58
Out of my way!
28:44
He's gone to feed the fishes.
28:57
We've won, mates!
29:14-29:18
The frenzied officer pursued
the wounded Vakulinchuk.
30:00
Vakulinchuk is overboard!
30:18
Save Vakulinchuk!
30:59-31:06
He who was the first to call for an uprising
fell at the hands of a butcher.
