Goals

• See WS:WPFG

WikiFlix portals

• Will replace the current Portal:Film and subportals, and add many new ones
• The header will link to subportals for all the types of films (genres, etc.)
• Feature, Short will be at the top of the header
• Silent, Sound, Animated will be at the top
• Comedy, Drama, Action (I think) will be the three main genres to show

• There will be a dropdown menu that shows the entire comprehensive list of genres/types to choose from
• There will be subportals for each year, and each decade as well.

Under the header (or maybe in it) will be a search bar, that allows you to search through all film data on WikiFlix.

Entries in the film portal

• [silent/sound, if animated say "animated" otherwise assume live-action, feature/short]
• Name of film + year. The film name will be a link to WikiFlix information page
• Genres/other types
• Film poster / other good main image representation of a film

Information pages

Information pages will be WikiFlix subpages. There will be a page for each film on its own, where you can watch the movie. This page will link to the transcription that is hosted on Wikisource, and the Wikisource transcription will in turn link to the WikiFlix information page for that film.

For individual films

• Title of film
• Main image
• Genres/types
• Links to Wikipedia article, Commons, Wikidata, etc.

• Full movie video file
• Link to Wikisource transcription
• Run time length

• Plot summary/description of film, one that doesn't (typically) contain spoilers

• Extra features (trailers, deleted scenes, other [official] versions of the film, etc.)
• Full cast/credits information (some of it may be in a drop-down)
• Release date (if known)

• Links to public domain reviews (in magazines/newspapers, etc.) that are already hosted on Wikisource

• See also section on the bottom of the page
  • If the film has a sequel/prequel/etc. in the PD, this will be listed above anything else in the See also.
  • This will link to similar films, such as films with similar titles/same genre/same actors/other common factors. Auto-generated

For series

• Unless otherwise specified, everything applied to film information pages also applies for series
• This page is a portal to the series episodes (in order if there is an official order, if not then as chronologically as possible)
• Plot summary/description of the series on a per-episode basis

Episode

• Next episode/previous episode buttons at top of page
• Plot summary/description of that episode (no spoilers)

• See also section will contain similar series/movies
