Some general comments[edit]

  • Abbadie. The second name is what we'd call a subarticle on the DNB. I wouldn't want it included in the title. It is fine to mention it in the "extra notes" field.
  • Abdias. The point about even mentioning Obadiah would be that the Vulgate doesn't use the same names as the King James Bible. The WP article link runs to w:Obadiah. Here Obadiah redirects to Bible/Obadiah. A disambiguation page would be better, really.
  • Abel (1) and Abel (2). I don't much like this internal disambiguation system. In this case the CE uses what WP would call a "primary": Abel is the brother of Cain, Abel (meadow) is the other meaning. Plus there is what the DNB project calls a "see article" Abel (Abell), Thomas in the original.
  • (The) Abomination of Desolation: I believe in omitting this type of definite article wherever possible. There are a few occasions where it seems required.
  • Adam of Saint Victor. Not sure about making the abbreviation St. here. On balance I'd leave it as in the original.
  • Ferdinando d'Adda. Yes, lower case per original.
  • Alexander of Neckam (Necham). Moved to take out the parenthesis. Vol. 10 anyway.
  • Malachias (Malachi). Same comment as for Abdias. Moved to Malachias.
  • Diocese of Cariati (Paternum). Paternum is there in the original. Edited the article to match.
  • Heinrich Bernhard, Freiherr von Andlaw. Unlike the DNB, the CE titles here include titles of nobility.
