Sacred text of the Latter Day Saint movement. It was first published March 1830 by Joseph Smith as The Book of Mormon: An Account Written by the Hand of Mormon upon Plates Taken from the Plates of Nephi.

The contents are commonly attributed to Joseph Smith, but adherents of the LDS movement believe they are translations by Smith of the writings of ancient prophets. These prophets include: Nephi, Jacob, Enos, Jarom, Omni, Mormon, Ether, and Moroni.
