Pride and Prejudice[edit]

Thanks for validating Pride and Prejudice! It's one of those works that needed to be done quickly so everyone can enjoy it. Susan Susanarb (talk) 02:25, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to add my thanks as well. It's always difficult when a new month starts to maintain momentum on the previous month's works. I see you've started on one of the volumes of DNB, that project will be very happy. When and as you need a break from those pages, check out the lists in Category:Index Proofread or Category:Index Not-Proofread. The first is for works that are waiting to be validated, the second for works that have pages needing an initial proofread. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 05:27, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting components[edit]

In the Page:Nullification Controversy in South Carolina.djvu series, some tips:

  1. No need to size format references; where we want them smaller footnotes, we use {{smallrefs}} in the footer, rather than trying to size all the components. To note that it is in the edit list at the base of an editing page for easy use.
  2. We don't text indent the start of a paragraph. It is just old style typography, and a double hard return will put in place a <p> equivalent. Putting in extra formatting can cause problems when concatenating the pages when we transclude to the main namespace. We give guidance at Wikisource:Style guide

I have also noticed that some of the references run over to subsequent pages, and we have the <ref name=xxxx> ... and <ref follow=xxxx>... series to assist with these (Help:Footnotes and endnotes). — billinghurst sDrewth 01:35, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Also worth having a look at {{hyphenated word start}} and its pair {{hyphenated word end}} — billinghurst sDrewth 02:28, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
