To add to the above, it is my belief that we do not replicate breaks in lines of poetry for the same reason that we do not break lines in the same positions as the original text in works of prose. Londonjackbooks (talk) 20:46, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

One of our key principles at Wikisource is maintaining the fidelity of the text as judged according to its source. Although "etc." may indicate to the reader the sort of pattern in the text, the text itself does not make the repetition in full. We prefer to reproduce texts as they were published on Wikisource, which is a different practice than some other Internet Libraries who emend or expand their texts. --EncycloPetey (talk) 20:42, 4 October 2017 (UTC)
