Wikisource principles

[edit]

A central principle of Wikisource is to preserve (as much as possible) formatting present in the original. This includes:

  • vertical spacing, so pages may have two blank lines between paragraphs to replicate that spacing
  • Two dashes (--) to reproduce typewritten documents.
  • Do not introduce formatting that is not present in the original, such as bolding text that was not originally bolded.

In your editing, you have been auto-removing these features from pages where they are intentional. Please go back and check your edits, and adjust your future editing, so that this does not happen. --EncycloPetey (talk) 17:54, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Also, the {{disambiguation}} header should always appear at the top of a page. Please do not move it to the bottom. --EncycloPetey (talk) 17:59, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
