A non-fiction travel book about a journey by the author with his friend Harris, a character based on his friend Joseph Twichell, through central and southern Europe.
It is often thought to be an unofficial sequel to the earlier The Innocents Abroad.
Illustrated by the artists Walter Francis Brown, True W. Williams, Benjamin Henry Day and others.
