RUSLAN I LYUDMILA. A Russian romantic opera, in 5 acts, based on a poem by Pushkin, the music by Glinka. Produced at St. Petersburg, Nov. 27, 1842. The scene is laid in the Caucasus, in fabulous times, and the music is said to partake strongly of the Asiatic, oriental, character. The overture was played at the Crystal Palace, Sydenham, London, July 4, 1874.
