​JORDAN. The Bible river of that name. It is mentioned thrice in the Book of Mormon: once in connection with the occupation of Canaan by the Israelites (I Nephi, 17:32); once in Lehi's prophecy concerning the labors of John the Baptist (1 Nephi, 10:9); and in an extract from the writings of Isaiah, (II Nephi, 19:1).
