Sandes, George, s. (Edwin), archbishop of York. St. Mary Hall, matric. entry dated 5 Dec., 1589, aged 11; of Carswell, Oxon, born 2 March, 1577; student of Middle Temple 1596, the traveller, a gentleman of the privy chamber to Charles I.; buried 7 March, 1643, in the chancel of Boxley, church, Kent; brother of Henry 1589, and Edwin 1577.
